Customs brokerage services in Guatemala
Complete customs formalities for importers and exporters, across all transport modes.
Aduanas EF prepares DUCA customs declarations, classifies goods, clears imports and exports, handles customs transit, free zone and maquila operations, and advises on customs regulations for air, sea and land cargo.
Customs declarations (DUCA)
We prepare and submit to the SAT the customs declaration for your operation — definitive import, export, transit or special regimes — checking that the data matches the invoice, transport document and permits.
Tariff classification
We assign the Central American Tariff System (SAC) code for your goods. That code determines duties and taxes, non-tariff permits and whether trade-agreement preferences apply.
Import clearance
We manage your cargo from arrival at the port, airport, bonded warehouse or border until release. See the import process.
Export clearance
We handle the exit formalities for your product and coordinate with the point of exit to meet your shipping deadlines. See the export process.
Free zone and maquila regime
We serve free zone users and companies under the maquila regime. See details.
Customs compliance advisory
We make sure existing regulations are applied correctly and advise you on the most advantageous and efficient options: the right regime, use of trade agreements, prior requirements and prevention of adjustments.
Transport modes
| Mode | Transport document | Where we operate |

Frequently asked questions
Why does tariff classification matter?
The tariff code determines the duty rate, the permits required and whether your goods can benefit from a trade agreement. An incorrect classification can lead to adjustments, fines or delays. Our professionals have extensive knowledge of tariff classification, customs law and procedures.
Do you handle air, sea and land cargo?
Yes. We handle all customs formalities for the three modes — air, sea and land — at Guatemala’s ports, bonded warehouses and Central American border crossings.
How long does customs clearance take?
It depends on the transport mode, on the documentation being complete and on the result of the customs risk selection system (green: release without physical inspection; red: inspection). With correct documents and the declaration prepared in advance, the process is considerably faster. We give you estimated timing for your case when quoting.
